Survey: America's favourite grocery stores

5/14/2017

Wegmans and Publix tied for first place as America's favourite grocery store in an annual consumer study of more than 12,700 shoppers by Market Force.

This is the second consecutive year Wegmans topped the list. Last year the New York-based supermarket chain bumped long-running favourite Trader Joe's into third place, while Publix held on to the No. 2 spot for the fourth year in a row.

However, Trader Joe's wasn't far behind this year's leaders. Both Wegmans and Publix scored 77% on Market Force’s Customer Loyalty Index, only narrowly beating out Trader Joe’s, which scored a 76%.

H-E-B made the top three for the first time with 69% -- a 10% increase from 2016. Aldi and Harris Teeter rounded out the top five with 68% and 66%, respectively.
