Walmart Canada appoints VP of marketing
Tammy Sadinsky has joined Walmart Canada as its VP of marketing communications.
Working with the marketing leadership team, the former Tim Hortons executive will oversee all facets of advertising to ensure brand messaging is consistent across multiple channels and consumer touchpoints.
In an email to Canadian Grocer, Sadinsky said Walmart Canada is committed to saving consumers time and money and would continue to invest in technology that delivers a seamless grocery shopping experience.
That, she said, includes a faster in-store checkout experience, online grocery pickup and grocery delivery.
Competition in the Canadian grocer industry continues to intensify as chains test and invest in e-commerce and grocery delivery options. And Walmart is no exception. In 2015, the discount retail giant introduced grocery pickup in Ottawa and later expanded the service to stores in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Calgary and Edmonton.
Early last year it launched grocery delivery within select regions of the GTA and more recently signed a five-year partnership with SPUD on grocery delivery in the Vancouver area.
