UGI Supplier Awards Gala to be held online this year

United Grocers Inc. (UGI) is hosting its annual awards show online this year.

The "Partners in Growth" virtual Gala will take place Oct. 29. Held in partnership with Canadian Grocer and its parent company Ensemble IQ, the event will kick off with a supplier and member networking session from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed immediately by the awards ceremony.

The virtual platform will allow attendees to network through video chats with up to six attendees at one time. Attendees will have the ability to turn their camera and mic off at anytime.

In addition to the awards show, UGI will recognize Denis Gendron for his contribution as president. Gendron retired at the end of June after more than 45 years in the grocery industry, nine of which he served as UGI's president.
