Walmart Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada launch 23rd annual campaign
Who: Walmart Canada
What: The retailer is contributing $1 million to the Breakfast Club of Canada for their joint 23rd annual campaign.
From Sep. 18 to Oct. 10, Walmart customers can donate in-store or online towards supporting Breakfast Club of Canada’s mission to support and provide funding to school breakfast programs.
According to Statistics Canada, 1 in 3 children in Canada lives in a household facing food insecurity—roughly 2.5 million children.
The campaign aims to raise awareness to the importance of access to nutritious breakfast throughout the school year.
“Our annual Breakfast Club of Canada fundraising campaign is close to our associates’ and customers’ hearts,” said Rob Nicol, vice-president, corporate affairs and communications, Walmart Canada. “We know a good breakfast can change a child’s day and fuel them to learn. That’s why we’re all in, year after year. We invite customers to join us in making mornings and futures brighter for kids across Canada.”
For 30 years, Breakfast Club of Canada has been working with partners from all sectors to help children access a nutritious breakfast.
Since first teaming up with the Club, Walmart Canada has raised and donated over $71 million to support children across the country through programs across hundreds of Canadian communities.
