Walmart Canada offers select holiday food items at 2021 prices

Retailer says its temporarily 'removing inflation' on traditional foods like turkey and stuffing

Walmart Canada is rolling back the prices on some popular holiday foods to help financially strained shoppers. 

From Dec. 8 to 28, the retailer is offering last year’s prices on traditional foods like turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, cake, ice cream and more in-store and online. 

“We know this year has been challenging for many Canadian families due to rising costs,” Pietro Rollo, vice president of food, Walmart Canada, said in a statement. “Saving money is extremely important to our customers right now, and we’re doing our best to help. We’re removing inflation on the key ingredients needed for a festive dinner this holiday season so Canadians can feast with less worry and more merry.”

“We’re also working with our suppliers to ensure our shelves are stocked with a wide assortment of holiday essentials that our customers expect to find in our more than 400 stores across Canada,” Rollo added.

Prices are based on the average national and regional prices charged for the featured items from Dec. 8 to 28, 2021, when purchasing the entire assortment of the same items.
