 Who: Walmart Canada

What: The retailer is launching a back-to-school fundraising campaign with Breakfast Club of Canada as the organization faces steep cost increases.

Walmart Canada – the club’s largest corporate partner – is inviting customers to participate from Sept. 22 to Oct. 14 by donating at the checkout in-store and online.

It will also contribute an additional $1 million to school breakfast programs in communities across Canada.

For the past 20 years, Walmart Canada has worked with Breakfast Club of Canada, raising more than $60 million.

”We are absolutely committed to delivering on our mission to help families live better. This is even more vital during these challenging economic times where it’s become more difficult for people to provide for their families,” said Rob Nicol, vice president, communications and corporate affairs at Walmart Canada, in a release. “Together, with Breakfast Club of Canada, we are helping ensure more children can eat nutritious breakfasts so they are fueled to learn.”
