Walmart, Metro, OWFG headline Thought Leadership Conference

The retail leaders of Walmart, Metro and Overwaitea Food Group are headlining the panel discussion at the 2nd annual Thought Leadership Conference on Nov. 19 at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York.

The event will take place prior to the Golden Pencil Awards, and will address key topics such as collaboration, health and wellness, sourcing and consumer insights.

To start, Russ Dunham, executive vice-president of Nielsen NeuroFocus, who explain how the world's largest consumer neuroscience firm helps clients all over the world gain actionable insights into consumer behaviours.

He will be followed by Joe Crafton, president of Crossmark U.S., who will talk about new centres of collaboration and some interesting programs executed with retailers.

Next Robert L. Fregolle, Jr., global customer business development officer for Procter and Gamble U.S., will discuss some of the best collaborative practices he's seen between retailers and suppliers around the world.

The conference will end with the highly anticipated panel discussion moderated by Rob Gerlsbeck, editor of Canadian Grocer, with Shelley Broader, president and CEO, Walmart Canada; Darrell Jones, president of Overwaitea Food Group; and Eric La Fleche, president and CEO of Metro Inc.

The conference will be followed by the Golden Pencil Awards, as well as the presentation of the Generation Next Award, an award launched by Canadian Grocer to recognize the up-and-coming innovative leaders in the grocery and consumer packaged goods industries.
