Zehrs held the grand reopening of its renovated store in St. Catharines, Ont. on July 3.

The Loblaw Companies banner welcomed shoppers to its refreshed Pen Centre location last week, featuring new departments, expanded product selections and refreshed offerings.

New departments include Joe Fresh, Grab and Go and toys. The store now features an enhanced cold deli with cheeses and meats from around the world and an expanded multicultural assortment across every department.

Shoppers will find a refreshed bakery offering freshly baked breads, cakes, sweets and the store's signature fresh-fried doughnuts, as well as an expanded produce department, a larger Home selection and an updated Health & Beauty department with an expanded cosmetics offering alongside a refreshed pharmacy.

“This store has been part of people’s everyday routines in St. Catharines for a long time, and we don’t take that for granted,” said Steve Ali, store manager, Zehrs Pen Centre, in a press release. “My family has called this community home for 30 years, so reopening these doors feels personal. Customers have told us they wanted a better Joe Fresh department and more fresh, convenient meal options and those changes were a big focus for our team. We’re proud to welcome people back to a store they know, with more of what they’ve told us they want.”

Ali has worked with Zehrs for more than 40 years, with the past 33 years spent as a store manager in Barrie, Alliston and St. Catharines, Ont.

The store's team of 126 colleagues brings extensive expertise, with many department managers having more than 25 years of experience.

As part of the celebration, Zehrs Pen Centre will present a $5,220 donation to Community Care of St. Catharines.

Zehrs Pen Centre is located at 221 Glendale Avenue.
