How did you get your start in the grocery business?
Fifteen years ago, I discovered an opportunity in the grocery business and I have been working in this industry ever since. The dynamic nature of this field captivated me with its fresh challenges and opportunities for growth. I was fortunate to have incredible mentors who generously shared their wisdom and experience, fuelling my desire to innovate and push boundaries. I enjoyed developing strategies that focused on the needs of the customers. The grocery business continues to inspire me, and I look forward to many more years of growth and innovation in this field.
What keeps you passionate about your work?
What motivates me at work is the opportunity to learn, grow and innovate. I am driven by the chance to push my boundaries and expand my knowledge. Working with exceptional individuals, exchanging ideas and achieving shared goals fosters a sense of community and purpose that is both motivating and fulfilling. I am deeply passionate about innovation and the satisfaction of bringing new ideas to life. Additionally, coaching and mentoring others is an immensely rewarding aspect of my work. Guiding others to achieve their potential not only enriches their lives, but also strengthens our team and elevates our collective success.
What is the best advice you've received in your career?
The best career advice I received was to embrace opportunities that push me outside of my comfort zone. This advice has significantly impacted my professional growth and development. It has encouraged me to take risks, pursue continuous learning and remain open to new possibilities. This has helped me build resilience and adaptability.
What would you say is a highlight of your career, so far?
The most significant accomplishment of my career has been the development of a successful program aimed at addressing mealtime challenges for our customers. This initiative not only distinguished us from our competitors in the market,[but]by providing innovative solutions for meal planning and preparation, we were able to make a meaningful impact on our customers' lives, enhancing their overall shopping experience and fostering loyalty to our brand. Additionally, I have evolved into a good leader by fostering engagement and growth. I invested in the development of my team and created an environment where everyone feels valued and supported, thus creating a sense of purpose and belonging within the team.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
After work, I love spending quality time with my husband, family and friends. These moments of connection and relaxation are incredibly precious to me. Whether we’re enjoying a home-cooked meal, watching a movie, or simply catching up on each other’s day. I’m especially excited about the upcoming arrival of our little boy. As we prepare for this new chapter, I look forward to creating wonderful memories and embracing the joys and challenges of parenthood together.
What is a fun fact about you?
I was born in Lebanon and moved to Canada when I was 11. The transition was a significant shift, filled with new challenges and opportunities. Leaving behind my home and familiar surroundings for a new country was scary, but it also opened a world of possibilities. I quickly learned to adapt to the cultural differences, language and new school system. This experience taught me resilience and the importance of embracing change. It helped shape my perspective and fostered a sense of determination and flexibility that has been invaluable in both my personal and professional life.

I am truly honoured to receive this award and be recognized by both my leader and Loblaw. It's incredibly inspiring and humbling to be celebrated alongside other talented women. I am grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement I've received throughout my career, and I am determined to continue empowering and uplifting women in the industry. Together, we will create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
