Atlantic Superstore to be converted to Maxi banner in Edmundston, N.B.
Loblaw has announced it will convert its Edmundston, N.B., Atlantic Superstore to operate under its Maxi banner.
The Maxi banner is “experiencing growing success in New Brunswick since its first opening in Caraquet last fall,” states a press release.
The discount banner will offer Edmundston residents fresh and local products that will feature both local Acadian flavours and Quebec favourites. The location will also utilize PC Optimum, Price Match programs and the PC Express service.
"Maxi is the ideal choice for Edmundston, a dynamic and francophone community – just like us," said Patrick Blanchette, vice-president of Maxi, in the release. "In the current economic climate, customers are looking to save more than ever, and our analyses have shown that the Maxi grocery concept will better meet the expectations and needs of consumers in the region than anyone else. We are confident that Maxi will quickly become customers' preferred choice for unparalleled value."
There will be a brief closure in June to convert the existing store into a Maxi location, with a reopening scheduled for a few weeks later.
