Bill Ivany is coming out of retirement. The former Tree of Life Canada (TOLC) president and chief operating officer has been tapped to lead Acosta Canada.

Ivany will be responsible for the “management and direction of all business activities and organizational policies of the Canadian operation,” according to a press release announcing his hire. He will report to Darian Pickett, CEO of North American sales for Acosta, effective immediately.

"Bill will serve as an instrumental leader as Acosta continues to drive strategic objectives of strengthening and modernizing its services and transforming the company's operating model," said Pickett. "We are thrilled and honored to welcome Bill to our Canadian team."

Ivany joined TOLC as COO in 2016. He became president in 2019 and announced his retirement in June 2020. Ivany has also held senior executive positions in food manufacturing and sales brokerages, including Marshman International Food Brokers, Melitta Canada and GVMF Canada.
