BlueTriton Brands appoints Jorge Mesquita as CEO

Former Johnson & Johnson EVP joins the newly formed water company as it looks to grow

BlueTriton Brands has named Jorge Mesquita as chief executive officer.

Mesquita joins the former North American operation of Nestlé Waters as it looks to grow and innovate as an independent company under the BlueTriton name.

Prior to joining BlueTriton, Mesquita served as executive vice-president and worldwide chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s consumer division where, according to a press release, he “revamped the marketing, brand building and commercial strategies for brands including Johnson’s Baby, Neutrogena and Listerine.”

Mesquita also spent nearly 30 years at P&G, leading three separate divisions during his time with the CPG company.

“Over the course of his long career in the consumer products industry, Jorge has developed an outstanding reputation as a strategic thinker and inspirational leader with a focus on operational excellence and a passion for re-energizing businesses and brands,” said Tony W. Lee, managing partner of One Rock Capital Partners, which acquired Nestlé Waters North America earlier this year in partnership with Metropoulos & Co.

The US$4.3-billion sale included the Canadian Pure Life brand, Poland Spring, Deer Park and Ozarka brands.
