Calgary Co-op has a new chief financial officer.

Rich McLellan joins the co-operative with 40 years of executive leadership experience and 19 years as a CFO across public and private companies.

Throughout his career, McLellan has led capital markets, finance, investor relations, business development, IT, risk management, pension oversight, legal, procurement, logistics and government relations, Calgary Co-op said.

Among other roles, he previously served as senior vice-president of finance and CFO for chemical manufacturing company Canexus Corp. (currently known as Chemtrade Electrochem Inc.), a role that he retired from in 2015.

“That depth and breadth of expertise will be a tremendous asset to our organization and our members,” Calgary Co-op shared in a LinkedIn post. “Rich is no stranger to Calgary Co-op. During his recent time on the board, he served as REDI Chair and as a member of the Audit and Governance committees, and he has already made a meaningful impact.”

McLellan's appoint follows that of Andrew Clarke, who was named CEO of the co-operative in July.
