Butter chicken was the country’s most-ordered dish for the second year in a row.
Canadians were craving chips this year, as the snack was the most-ordered grocery item on Skip in 2024.
The delivery company has shared the country’s most-popular orders from this past year—from Alberta’s freeze-dried candy craze to Ontario’s insatiable appetite for coffee.
Followed by chips, the top grocery products ordered across Canada were pop, milk, Skip’s Mystery Bag—containing five items worth $25 total—and bread.
Butter chicken was the country’s most-ordered dish for the second year in a row, followed by garlic naan, miso soup, fries and butter naan.
Each province had its own unique cravings this year, Skip said. Ontario accounted for 44% of all coffee orders coast-to-coast, followed by Alberta at 25%.
Thirty six per cent of all poutine orders were placed in Ontario, followed by 27% in Alberta.
Alberta accounted for 64% of national bubble tea orders, while Manitoba and B.C. followed at 12% and 11%, respectively.
Ontario led the nation in sushi orders with a 34% share, followed by Alberta at 25% and B.C at 20%.
Albertans ordered the most whey protein on Skip (38%), followed by Manitoba (19%) and Ontario (18%).

Alberta accounted for 28% of all Slurpee orders nationally. When it comes to alcohol, one spender in B.C. took the crown with a $504 order on a bottle of tequila.
As Skip expanded its retail offerings this year, the company noted growth in flower and pet store orders. Flower orders soared by 87% compared to last year, while pet store orders rose by 178%.
Social media has also influenced Skip customers’ orders. Orders on freeze-dried candy—a viral treat—surged 2310% nationally, proving to be a favourite in Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
As frozen grapes took off on TikTok, more shoppers included this fruit in their baskets, with Alberta accounting for 39% of all orders.
