The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) has announced Colin Chapdelaine as the 2023-2024 chair. He takes over the role from Mario Masellis.
Chapdelaine has more than 25 years of experience in the produce industry and is currently president of berry operations at Star Produce, a Western Canada-based distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables. He previously served on CPMA's board from 2007 to 2012 and then from 2015 to present and is currently a member of the organization's Executive and Human Resources Committees as well as vice-chair of its Industry Technology Advisory Committee.
In his role as chair of the produce association Chapdelaine will build on the work of his predecessors and prioritize crucial areas affecting the industry such as innovation, sustainability and supply chain challenges.
"I am truly honoured to take on the role of CPMA chair," said Chapdelaine in a press release. "I eagerly anticipate collaborating with my colleagues to advance our industry's commitment to social, economic and environmental sustainability as well as continuing to drive innovation across the produce supply chain."
