Costco reports 10.7% increase in Canadian sales for retail month of April

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $28.41 billion for the retail month of March, up from $25.51 billion last year.

Comparable sales increased 10.7% in Canada and 8.7% in the U.S. Other International sales rose by 11.9%, while Digitally Enabled sales increased by 23.3%.

Net sales for the first 31 weeks of the club's fiscal year, ended April 5, were $173.26 billion, an increase of 9.1% from $158.87 billion. 

April had one additional shopping day versus last year, due to the calendar shift of Easter, Costco said, positively impacting total and comparable sales by approximately one and one-half to two percent.
