Costco's Canada sales rise 4% in August
Club says Labour Day shift negatively impacted sales for the retail month
Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $23.7 billion for the retail month of August, up from $21.56 billion last year.
Comparable sales increased 4% in Canada, 9% in the U.S., 9.5% in Other International and 17.9% in Digitally Enabled.
Costco said the shift in Labour Day, which will occur one week later this year, negatively impacted August total and comparable sales.
The company’s net sales for its 16-week fourth quarter came to $93.9 billion, up from $84.4 billion in 2025.
For the 52-week fiscal year ended Aug. 30, 2026, Costco reported net sales of $297.3 billion, an increase from $269.9 billion.
Costco currently operates 115 warehouses in Canada.
