Eco Guardian receives $1.5 M investment from Ontario government to scale production of its sustainable packaging solutions

Eco Guardian, a maker of compostable and recyclable packaging solutions, announced it has received a $1.5-million investment from Ontario’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) program.

The Aurora, Ont.-based company says the funds will be used to expand the company’s manufacturing operations to meet demand for sustainable foodservice packaging including hot and cold drink cups, soup and ice cream containers and more.

The company says the investment will allow it to create up to 40 skilled positions across manufacturing, operations and technical functions.

“Support from the Ontario government through the AMIC program allows Eco Guardian to scale production and strengthen our manufacturing footprint,” said company president and CEO Anil Abrol in a press release. “This project now only supports job creation, but also ensures that high-quality sustainable packaging is being made right here in Ontario for the global market.”
