Following an extensive search that involved “hundreds of applicants from business, government and major charities,” Food Banks Canada has found its new chief executive officer from within the organization.

Kirstin Beardsley has been with Food Banks Canada since 2014 and has been serving as its bilingual chief network services officer for the past four years.

In a press release, Food Banks Canada credits Beardsley with leading transformational change in the food banks system in Canada, and chair of the board of directors John Bayliss said she brings “enormous skills, experience and leadership to the role.”

“The Board is looking forward to Kirstin's capable leadership as the organization works towards our vision of a Canada where no one goes hungry,” said Bayliss.
