Loblaw’s AI-powered PC Chat launches in Quebec
Loblaw Companies has launched its AI-powered chat bot for health-related queries in Quebec.
Following its launch in English earlier this fall, PC Chat is now available in French on the PC Health and Pharmaprix apps and websites.
Canadians can use the tool to ask health questions—like, "Should I take a daily vitamin?" or "Is this something I should speak to a doctor about?"—and get plain-language information in real time.
“In Quebec, pharmacists are a trusted source of information for patients. With PC Chat, we want to go further by helping Quebecers understand their health concerns, identify the right sources of support, and feel better prepared for their medical consultations. The goal is not to replace the expertise of healthcare professionals, but to give patients the tools they need to play a more active role in their healthcare journey,” said Nabil Chikh, senior vice-president of pharmacy at Pharmaprix, in a press release.
The tool uses over a thousand reviewed and validated Canadian clinical sources, Loblaw said. It is also backed by an advisory board of Canadian medical professionals.
