Maxi opens new location in Montreal

A new Maxi store has opened in the Montreal borough of Saint-Laurent.

Located on Côte-Vertu Boulevard, the 30,000 square-foot supermarket represents a multi-million dollar investment.

Offerings include fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of meat cuts, an assortment of local products and a selection of multicultural products tailored to the local community.

Loblaw Companies said the store will create some 60 jobs. 

“At a time when Quebecers are looking more than ever to get greater value for their money, our priority is to offer them fresh, quality products at low prices. This new location in Saint-Laurent reflects our commitment to making Maxi’s offering accessible to a growing number of families,” said Patrick Blanchette, senior vice-president, Maxi, in a press release.

To mark the opening, store manager Geneviève Lebel presented a $2,500 donation to the non-profit Centre d’action bénévole et communautaire de Saint-Laurent.

“My team and I are very excited to welcome Saint-Laurent residents to their new Maxi. We want this store to be a place where customers can find what they need at great prices, while also becoming a business that is truly rooted in the neighbourhood. We look forward to building strong ties with the community and supporting local organizations,” said Lebel.

Customers will also be able to access several programs and tools including Flashfood, Maxi’s “Imbattable. Point final.” price-match policy, and the PC Optimum rewards program.

Earlier this week, Loblaw announced that it is increasing the number of new stores it plans to open this year to 75. The retailer said its grocery expansion would be primarily focused on No Frills and Maxi.
