Metro Inc. executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer François Thibault is retiring early next year.

Thibault joined Metro in 2012. In his 12-year tenure, the executive steered a number of acquisitions—including the Jean Coutu Group—and supported the modernisation of the company’s supply chain.

"I am grateful to François for his strong leadership and partnership over the last 12 years and thank him for his significant contribution to our success," said Eric La Flèche, president and CEO, in a release.

Thibault will continue in his role until his retirement this spring.

Metro said it plans to find a successor through an external search.
