Metro donated the equivalent of 26 million meals in 2025

Donations are part of the grocer’s Healthy Together campaign and food recovery program

What: In 2025, the grocer donated the equivalent of 26 million meals to its community partners through its two flagship initiatives.

$3.7 million were raised during the fourth annual Healthy Together campaign, equivalent to 7.4 million meals, for Feed Ontario, Food Banks of Quebec (BAQ) and Feed NB.

From Nov. to Dec. 2025, customers of Metro, Food Basics, Super C, Adonis, Première Moisson, Jean Coutu and Brunet stores in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick had the opportunity to make donations at checkout in‑store and online. All funds raised were redistributed locally.

Metro also made a corporate donation of $1.15 million

“The fundraising campaign reinforces [...] the impact of Metro’s One More Bite food recovery program, which aims to extend the life of food and reduce food waste,” states a press release.

In 2025, more than 9.35 million kilograms of food recovered was recovered from Metro-owned stores and distribution centres. The recovered food was redistributed to Feed Ontario, Second Harvest and BAQ.

One More Bite has recovered and redistributed nearly 45 million kilograms of food since its beginning, the equivalent of around 90 million meals.
