Metro raises $3.6M for 28th annual Centraide campaign

The campaign helps to support the annual operations of 25 organizations in Montreal

Who: Metro Inc.

What: The grocer’s 28th annual campaign in support of Centraide, has raised a total of $3,633,430, an increase of nearly 10% compared to last year.

The funds raised will go towards Centraide’s efforts to support “essential initiatives aimed at improving quality of life in our communities, including helping vulnerable youth succeed, creating affordable housing, and combating isolation and poverty throughout Quebec," notes a press release.

For this year’s campaign, Metro employees raised $1,435,257, customers raised $1,648,173 and the company contributed $550,000. These funds will go towards annual operations of 25 organizations in Montreal.

“This success reflects the solidarity and exemplary commitment of our teams—whether working in our offices, distribution centres, food stores, or in pharmacies affiliated with our networks—as well as the generosity of our customers," said Eric La Flèche, president and CEO, Metro.
