Mother's Day 2026: How grocers are marking the occasion
With Mother's Day just around the corner, Canadian grocers are stepping up to help shoppers celebrate their moms (and mother figures) this Sunday. Here's what's in-store:
Eataly
On May 10, Eataly’s Yorkville store will transform into a spring-inspired escape for its annual Mother’s Day Festa. The Italian food hall is also offering Mother’s Day cooking classes at its Yorkville and Sherway Gardens locations. From hands-on pasta workshops to mastering the tiramisu, guests will explore the secrets of southern Italian pasta-making.
Farm Boy
To help customers cut back on prep time, the retailer offered a chef-prepared "Mother's Day Brunch." The sold-out spread could be pre-ordered for pick-up on May 10.
Farm Boy is also offering ready-to-gift floral options like its Bounty Bouquet.
Longo’s
In honour of Mother’s Day, the grocer is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch cooking class. In the sold-out demonstration, Chef Christina Muzzi will prepare a menu designed for effortless entertaining while sharing tips and techniques for elevating attendees' next brunch gathering. Guests will sip on a Berry Spritz Mocktail as Muzzi creates a Smoked Salmon Tarte, green Shakshuka, Spinach and Strawberry Salad with toasted almonds and Smoky Chorizo Hash, finishing with a Tiramisu Bread Pudding—all to be enjoyed family-style at the end of the class.
Save-On-Foods
Each year, the Pattison Food Group banner runs its “Bunches of Love” campaign for Mother's Day in support of women’s health.
From May 7 to 13, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of flowers or selected potted plants and garden centre items will go towards supporting women’s health initiatives in Western Canada.
Colemans
The Newfoundland and Labrador grocery chain is running a number of specials and features for Mother’s Day, including fresh or cooked local lobster, Blueberry Brie Artisan Bread and custom bouquets and vases.
