Nielsen's Steve Churchill to retire

Managing director of Nielsen Canada Buy announces retirement in new year
12/5/2014

After a more than 30-year career at Nielsen, Steve Churchill, managing director of Nielsen Canada Buy, has announced his retirement effective January 1, 2015.

Jeanne Danubio, managing director of consumer insights, will succeed Churchill in the role.

Churchill has held a number of positions during his time at Nielsen, including retail services, client services and operations and most recently, senior vice-president systems/operations and industry development. He was appointed to his current position in July 2007, where he was responsible for growth strategies and client-focused business solutions. Churchill has been a key contributor to many major initiatives, including negotiating the first retailer scanning agreements across the country and signing Walmart to its first Canadian co-operative agreement.

Danubio joined Nielsen in 1987 and has held roles in product leadership and professional services. Most recently she was responsible for integrating Harris Decima into Nielsen and set the groundwork for Nielsen North America Consumer Insights practice.

She will begin transitioning into the new role immediately and will relocate to the Toronto area.
