The Grocery Foundation held its Make Happy Tummies breakfast event this morning (Jan. 29) at St. Augustine Catholic School in North York, Ont., for the third year.
Volunteers from across the foundation’s community of retailers, sponsors and partners came together to prepare and hand out breakfast to more than 500 children at the school.
Simon Small, executive director, The Grocery Foundation, gave opening remarks about the importance of volunteering.
“It truly is a gift we get to give. Let that resonate and reflect in what you do in your day-to-day business,” said Small.
The Toronto breakfast event was held in partnership with Flipp as its official breakfast sponsor and The Angel Foundation for Learning, which serves food to more than 70,000 children everyday in the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB).
This year’s campaign has welcomed Flipp, Field Agent, Adonis and many other new sponsors to the community that are currently supporting more than 3,000 student nutrition programs in Western Canada, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
