PHOTO GALLERY: Star Women in Grocery Awards Ceremony 2024
It was a full house at The International Centre in Toronto on September 26 with around 700 industry leaders turned out to celebrate the 60 winners of the 2024 Star Women in Grocery awards.
Highlights of the sold-out event included an inspiring keynote from Empire Company Limited's Sandra Sanderson (a 2015 Star Women in Grocery winner) on "Stepping Outside Comfort Zones: Leadership Through Challenge and Change," which kicked off the morning.
The keynote was followed by the Star Women panel discussion moderated by Canadian Grocer's editor-in-chief Shellee Fitzgerald and featuring current year winners Candice Chan of Metro Ontario, Ashley Melito of Mars Pet Nutrition Canada, Kim Roth of The Clorox Company of Canada, and Jennifer Teixeira of Loblaw/No Frills. Panelists shared experiences and perspectives on things such as leadership, career development, workplace culture as well the career lessons they've learned along the way.
New this year was the Star Women in Grocery Networking Lunch. Immediately following the awards breakfast, the invitation-only Networking Lunch featured a panel moderated by Deb Craven of Longo's and featuring past Star Women in Grocery recipients Marcy Crouse of Kraft Heinz Canada, Stacey Kravitz of UNFI Canada, and Susan Irving of Kruger Products.
