PHOTOS: Italian Centre Shop opens second Calgary location

Italian Centre Shop welcomed customers to its second Calgary location this past weekend.

The Alberta retailer held the grand opening of its new supermarket—first announced in July—at the Northland Village Mall (5111 Northland Drive NW #2150) on Saturday (Sept. 19).

Spanning 22,000 square feet, the shop will include a large deli with a variety of cheeses, meats and antipasti, a “tavola calda” serving up hot, ready-to-eat meals, an artisan bakery offering fresh breads and sweets baked daily and the retailer’s cafe, which will serve made to order pizzas, sandwiches and Italian coffee.

The deli experience is anchored by Italian Centre Shop’s first-ever Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma wall.

“Overall, the new store is designed to feel like stepping into ancient and classic Italy while standing in modern Calgary. It is more than a grocery store—it is an experience, a gathering place, and a celebration of culture, architecture, food, and community,” the retailer said.
