A refreshed Metro Plus has opened in the Montreal suburb of Candiac.

After a months-long $3.5 million renovation project, the grocer welcomed shoppers to its new location at 50 Montcalm Boulevard North Thursday (Oct. 15).

New features include Metro’s Aki Thaï, Aki Grill and Aki Boba counters. Shoppers will also find an enhanced selection of specialty foods, bakery, pastry and health products, as well as a refreshed SAQ section.

The store also features an Adonis section—offering products from the Metro-owned Mediterranean grocer—a Chocolats Favoris counter, a Starbucks café and an expanded range of specialty products, including Wagyu beef, aged beef and pork and a broader selection of craft beers.

Metro Plus Candiac now offers a bistro, Click and Collect service and new self-checkouts.

Several departments were redesigned, including the floral department, which now offers customized event bouquets. The prepared foods section now features self-serve counters.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome our customers to a modernized store that allows us to  offer even more choice, services, and new offerings to the community,” said Frédéric Boulanger,  owner of Metro Plus Candiac, in a press release.
