Food and beverage products will benefit Food Banks Mississauga
Who: Rabba Fine Foods
What: As it does every year, the Greater Toronto Area grocer has partnered with consumer packaged goods brands to donate everyday food and beverage essentials to Food Banks Mississauga to help local families as children head back to school.
This year’s partners include Danone, Honest Kids and Kellogg’s, donating such items as juice boxes, yogurt drinks and cereals.
“Back-to-school time is not only hectic and stressful for families, but can also be riddled with expenses,” said Rima Rabba, head of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program, in a press release. “Starting the new school year helping to feed local kids is a great way to give them a head start. We are grateful to our devoted partners for their ongoing support of this initiative. We could not do it without them.”
According to Rabba, the number of children who have turned to Food Banks Mississauga has increased by nearly 10% compared last year, with children accounting for more than one-third of food bank users.
