RCC unveils 2023 Excellence in Retailing Awards finalists
Calgary Co-op, Empire, Loblaw, Longo’s, Metro, Walmart and other grocers have been named finalists for the Retail Council of Canada’s (RCC) 2023 Excellence in Retailing Awards.
The awards recognize innovation across several categories, including: e-commerce experience; environmental leadership; health, safety and wellness; in-store experience and design; loss prevention; omni-channel; philanthropic leadership; pop-up experience and design; retail marketing; and talent development.

"We are thrilled to have an exceptional number of finalists this year, with 88 finalists across 10 categories," said Diane J. Brisebois, RCC president and CEO, in a statement. "This demonstrates how some of the challenges retailers have been experiencing over the last year have in fact inspired new ideas and a higher-level of excellence. We're also seeing new initiatives that have more fully embraced collaboration between departments and business partners."
Winners will be announced at the Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala, taking place May 30 at the Toronto Congress Center. The organization will also present its Awards of Distinction at the gala, which closes the first day of the RCC STORE 23 conference.
