Rogers Sugar reaches tentative deal with workers at Vancouver refinery

Labour dispute has led to empty grocery shelves across Western Canada.

Rogers Sugar Inc. has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing workers at its Vancouver refinery after a four-month strike. 

The agreement is subject to a ratification vote that will be held next week.

The Vancouver refinery, operated by Rogers Sugar subsidiary Lantic, employs some 140 unionized workers who have been on strike since Sep. 28.
