Salmonella outbreak linked to Filicetti sausages
An outbreak of salmonella infections in Ontario and Quebec has sparked a recall on Filicetti brand Dry Cured Italian Style Sausage (hot).
Based on food investigation findings conducted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), exposure to the Filicetti sausage has been identified as a source of the outbreak. CFIA says the product was sold in various sizes across British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.sizes.
Some of the individuals who became sick reported eating the Filicetti brand sausage before getting sick, while others said they regularly consumed the sausages before falling ill.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is possible that other sources could be identified.
