T&T is checking temperatures of employees, shoppers

T&T Supermarket is conducting temperature checks on shoppers and employees before they enter its stores to help curb the spread of COVID-19. The Loblaw-owned Asian specialty grocery chain made the announcement on its Facebook page on Saturday.

T&T said the move to check temperatures is to protect customers and staff because "a fever is the most common symptom for COVID-19." T&T asks that anyone with a fever stay home.

The temperature check system is one of several preventative measures the grocer has put in place in recent weeks including installing Plexiglass barriers at cash, providing cashiers with protective eyewear and enforcing social distancing in store.

The grocer is also donating one million masks to support Canada's frontline workers.

T&T operates 27 stores across British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
