Here's the full list of U.S. goods to be hit by Canada's counter-tariffs
Ottawa has announced dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs on $27.6 billion worth of U.S. goods.
The decision comes days after the U.S. imposed its promised 50% tariffs on $28 billion worth of Canadian exports.
U.S. President Donald Trump Trump said he was imposing the steep duties to offset Canada’s “discrimination” against its neighbour with regards to dairy, alcoholic beverages and motor vehicles.
"When the Americans go to the negotiation table first with the right attitude towards our industries and a true partnership, of course we'll come to the negotiating table," Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters Tuesday (Aug. 25). "But an attitude at the negotiation table that Canada is a subsidiary of the United States, that Canadian industry is going to be disadvantaged relative to American industry... That's not something we're going to accept."
Canada’s countermeasures, effective Sept. 8, primarily target steel, dairy, appliances, agricultural equipment, pulp and paper and electronics. See the full list of products below.
