Industry veteran Darrell Jones to take part in one-on-one interview at GroceryConnex 2024

Darrell Jones, president of Pattison Food Group, is set to participate in a one-on-one conversation at Canadian Grocer’s GroceryConnex conference in Toronto this November.

Jones will share his perspective on the ever-changing grocery industry as well as lessons learned over the course of his 48-year career.

Jones started out in the industry as a bag boy at the Overwaitea Foods store in Cranbrook, B.C. back in 1976. 

He went on to hold progressively senior leadership roles at Save-On-Foods and associated banners before joining the executive team in 2002. In 2012, Jones was promoted to president of Save-On-Foods and the Overwaitea Food Group. 

Nine years later, in 2021, he was appointed president of Pattison Food Group, which includes food, drug, wholesale and specialty retail operations with more than 30,000 employees and over 280 stores.

In 2017, Jones received the Golden Pencil Award from the Food Industry Association of Canada for his contributions to the grocery industry. He was also recently recognized as the 2024 Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Canadian Business Leader of the Year.

GroceryConnex takes place Nov. 25 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
