Nestlé Canada's Toronto factory undergoes $50M renovation

Nestlé Canada has completed a $50 million expansion and modernization project at its confectionary factory in downtown Toronto.

The company said the project unlocks additional capacity at the site to support growth across key brands.

New features include a molding line that can produce both KitKat and Aero and upgraded manufacturing equipment and site utilities.

The facility has also been redesigned to optimize logistics and reduce traffic disruptions. 

Located on Sterling Road, the factory is Nestlé's only peanut-free plant in North America, producing treats like KitKat, Aero, Smarties and Coffee Crisp.  

“Our 550 factory employees have built an incredible legacy, and this investment gives them even more to build on—new capacity and capability to carry that work forward,” said Chandra Kumar, president & CEO of Nestlé Canada, in a press release. “Together, that’s what unlocks our next chapter of growth, innovation, and leadership in confectionery.”
