Walsh’s No Frills is located at 21546 92 Ave NW in Edmonton.
No Frills marks a major milestone in Western Canada Thursday (Dec. 5).
The hard-discount supermarket chain is set to open its 100th store in the region.
Walsh’s No Frills—located at 21546 92 Ave NW in Edmonton—will offer the Loblaw banner’s typical fare of grocery and everyday items, including fresh produce, meat and pantry staples.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of our 100th No Frills in Western Canada,” said Ryan Davis, VP of operations for No Frills, Western Canada, in a release. “We owe this achievement to our committed owners and loyal customers who trust us to deliver exceptional value every day. Our promise is to continue supporting this vibrant community with a variety of high-quality products at unbeatable prices.”
Store owner-operator Chris Walsh has worked at Loblaw since 2003, starting as a grocery clerk. In 2013, he opened his first No Frills store in Edmonton.
“I am honoured to celebrate this incredible milestone with our customers and team,” Walsh said. “Opening this store means creating 85 new jobs and continuing to make a positive impact in the community I’m proud to serve.”
As part of the opening, Walsh’s No Frills will present $1,000 donations to both the Enoch Cree Nation Food Bank, supporting band members on the Enoch Cree First Nations Reserve, and the Edmonton Food Bank, which supplies food to more than 350 local organizations, including shelters, schools, and churches.
