Metro Inc. unveiled its modernized Metro in Montreal and opened Super C and Jean Coutu locations in East Angus, Que. this week.
The months-long $10 million renovation project at Metro Place Valois brings a new seafood department, new food concepts and upgraded facilities to the supermarket.
Located at 3800 Ontario Street East, the store now features an Adonis section and Aki Sushi, Aski Grill and Aki Boba counters, as well as freshly made hot pizzas.
Shoppers will also find a wider selection of sandwiches, freshly cut fruits and vegetables and chef-prepared meals. A fresh-squeeze orange juice machine has also been added to the store’s ready-to-eat offering.
The location’s BBQ section has been expanded, along with its selection of desserts and pastries.
Elsewhere, in East Angus (near Sherbrooke), Super C and Jean Coutu opened their doors—representing a total investment of $20 million.
Spanning nearly 36,000 square feet, Super C’s 124th store in Quebec offers freshly prepared meat, value-sized products and a selection of local and regional goods.
The discount banner's new store also offers self-checkout counters, Metro’s Click & Collect service and home delivery.
