RCC names new VP of federal government relations

Retail Council of Canada (RCC) has hired Mathieu Poirier as its new vice president of federal government relations. 

Poirier formerly held the position of senior director, policy and government relations at the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Association (CME), where he has been since 2017.

Prior to CME, the executive worked for several trade associations, as well as in the Office for Federal Leader of the Opposition and interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and, subsequently for the Office of The Hon. Bill Graham M.P.

Poirier will be based in RCC’s Ottawa office and will begin in his new role on Sept. 18.
