Boring AI Wins: What Actually Works for The Real World with Brian Wong will kick off the Wednesday, followed by a panel discussion on store innovation and design with Janssen’s Market Paula Janssen, and Brother Fixtures’ Ella Zhuang. Wednesday’s event features an exclusive report from NielsenIQ, A tale of two consumers: A look how the polarized consumer is redefining Canadian retail trends, presented by Carman Allison.
Concurrent workshops will end the morning. Topics are: State of Fresh report with FMI David Haaf; Uwe Stueckmann, Innovate Marketing on how independents can build loyalty; Flipp’s Aeron Lawrence looks at how Canadian retailers and brands are winning back the value-driven shopper; why 2D barcodes powered by GS1 are reshaping grocery, François Bouchard, GS1 Canada.
Afternoon stage sessions are open to all attendees and feature a range of topics from trends in food to how connected technology ecosystems are creating new opportunities for grocery retailers to improve profitability, streamline operations, and better serve today’s evolving shoppers, with Shawn Cunningham, Ravyx, along with leaders from Toshiba, LOC, and Vusion.
Over two days, there are networking events to help connect businesses. The Category Connect meeting program features dedicated meetings on Tuesday 12pm – 3pm. All attendees are invited to the Merchandiser Excellence awards cocktail on Tuesday where industry can meet for cocktails and connections. The Master Merchandising Awards will be handed out to the best POS displays in Canada along with the announcement of the 10 most innovative products in grocery.

As well, John Tobin, and Tom Szostok (Life Members, Industry Builders) and Jeffrey Min (Life Member, Independent Grocer) will be recognized by peers for their contributions to independents and the industry.
The afternoon trade show exhibition features the very best that grocery has to offer including an incredible assortment of food, beverage, technology, and infrastructure necessities.
