Super C opened its 123rd store this week.

Located in Montreal’s St-Henri neighbourhood, the Metro Inc. discount grocery retailer’s new store represents an investment of more than $7.2 million.

At 19,000 square feet, Super C Notre-Dame West offers fresh meats, value-sized formats, organic and natural products, craft beers and microbrews, as well as Première Moisson products.

Super C said the store features a modern layout with self-checkout lanes. Shoppers can also order groceries for delivery.

The store employs more than 80 people with Karine Riopel as store manager.

An inauguration took place Wednesday (Sept. 30) in the presence of dignitaries, members of management and community partners.

“The opening of our store on Notre-Dame West, in Montreal, is part of a series of strategic expansions that strengthen our position as Quebec’s leading discount retailer,” said Anna Kolakowski, senior vice-president of Super C, in a release.

To celebrate the opening, the store presented a $5,000 cheque to Moisson Montréal.
