Toronto- and Montreal-based creative agency Pigeon has acquired food and beverage marketing specialist Nourish.

Nourish employees and capabilities—including the firm’s in-house kitchen, studio and culinary expertise—will come together under the Pigeon brand, creating one unified agency.

Pigeon said the deal represents an important step in its strategy to expand its capabilities and reach. The company will expand its Toronto and Montreal teams, and extend its footprint through combined talent in Vancouver and Ottawa.

“The strategic value of the acquisition extends across all of Pigeon’s client portfolio. Nourish brings an additional depth of expertise that complements what we’ve spent nearly 50 years building a bit differently than most agencies. It also gives clients access to a broader range of complementary capabilities,” said Elyse Boulet, CEO and managing partner of Pigeon, in a press release.

Founded in 2009, Nourish’s expertise includes consumer intelligence, social and digital marketing, experiential marketing and content creation. Jo-Ann McArthur, founder of Nourish, said the partnership is a natural fit.

“Joining Pigeon gives us the depth and reach we’ve been looking for while continuing to leverage our specialized expertise in food and beverage marketing,” she said.
