T&T Supermarket will open its first Quebec store in the borough of Saint-Laurent by the end of 2022, the Loblaw-owned specialty grocer announced on Friday.

Located at 300 Sainte-Croix Avenue in a former Loblaws location, the 6,500-square-meter space will be the largest in T&T’s network, which includes 29 stores across B.C., Alberta and Ontario.

Since announcing its plans for the Quebec market late last year, T&T CEO Tina Lee said customers had reached out with suggestions on where the store should be located.

“This customer feedback gave us confidence that we would attract customers from all around the city, so it is important that we have great highway access,” Lee said in a press release. “Selecting this particular building also meant that we could give customers in the Greater Montreal area the best T&T shopping experience we know how to offer.”

Recruitment efforts are underway, with more than 300 front-line positions to fill. Additionally, T&T is looking for French-speaking department heads, assistant department heads and department supervisors living in Montreal.
