Vince’s Market hires Thomas Ayoub as director of operations
Ontario grocer Vince’s Market has tapped Thomas Ayoub, formerly of Whole Foods and The Big Carrot, for the newly created role of director of operations.
Ayoub brings more than 25 years of grocery retail leadership experience to the role spanning store leadership, multi-unit operations, merchandising, food safety, labour management, category performance and organizational development.
He previously held senior operational leadership roles with Whole Foods Market, and most recently served as operations manager at Toronto-based food market The Big Carrot.
Vince’s Market said the creation of the director of operations role will support operational executive, leadership development, merchandising standards, communication and accountability as the independent continues to grow.
Ayoub will work closely with category managers, specialists, store leads, supervisors and store teams to support execution, drive operational consistency, improve communication and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the organization.
“Thomas brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and hands-on grocery experience,” said Giancarlo Trimarchi, president of Vince’s Market, in a press release. “His leadership style aligns strongly with our culture, and we believe he will be a tremendous resource for our teams as we continue building on the strengths that have made Vince’s successful.”
Thomas added: “I am excited to join an organization with such a strong reputation for customer service, community involvement, and team culture. I look forward to supporting the talented people throughout Vince’s Market and helping the organization continue to grow and succeed.”
